Selling Art On Fine Art America

Las Cruces, NM - October 12th, 2014

Selling art on Fine Art America. I have been reasonably successful in selling my art & photography on the artist’s web site, Fine Art America. My Fine Art America (FAA) web site is www.jack-pumphrey.artistswebsites.com where as of today I have 1230 images. I’m not that particularly great as an artist, my photography is mostly “Lucky money shots” My pen & ink art is, so I’ve been told by other artists, “Wonderfully detailed, very fine and accurate” but, that’s not what I sell the most of on (FAA). What I do sell is a little bit of everything. I signed on as a “Print-on-Demand-Artist” 4-1/2 years ago and have 385 sales, so far. That’s not so terrific when matched by some of the regular “heavy hitters” on FAA who often sell two or three pieces every day! But, it’s far more than I’ve ever sold in galleries or through other outlets like craft shows, trade fairs, my jackpumphr...

March Customer Of The Month

Las Cruces, NM - March 1st, 2014

Our new “Customer of the Month” feature, inaugurating with this 45th issue of Jack’s FAA Newsletter, could be treading on dangerous grounds. “How come you didn’t pick us?” could be on the minds of a lot of our other great customers. “What’s your criteria, JACK?” others may demand. “How do I become your best customer?” ………………………You know, I struggled with this potential dilemma but came to the conclusion that ALL of our customers qualify but, we can only talk about one at a time. Besides, it’s my newsletter, so there :) Julie & Cliff Peterson of Pleasant Prairie, WI were on the internet a few weeks ago searching for a special jack (lifting device, not a bachelorette party dancer) for one of their classic Corvettes, when they came across “JACKSART” on the same page. Curious about this, Julie clicked on the blue line and was directed to my galleries page on www.jack-pump...

Cars, CARS, Our Love Affair With CARS

Las Cruces, NM - February 13th, 2014

What is it about our love affair with cars? Not just here in the US, but world-wide. Hells fire, we even follow the tracks of little red rover on Mars. Is that out of this world or, what? Not that I've been in like & love with cars ever since I saw my reflection in the bumper of that 1941 Caddy back in Seymoure, Indiana. Guess that tells you how long I've been slobbering over these smelly, loud monsters (my mother's words, not mine) We go in debt over them and sadly, forgo clothes & food to buy the set of chrome wheels, just to fit in with those others nutty, must have at all costs, car aficionados? Ah, but that’s car love, for some. We gladly slosh through the mud and stink of wrecking yards just to find a pristine piece of chrome to replace the one YOU let turn to rust. And, we'll pay extra for someone to park it and then we'll pay to have it washed, shampooed, dried an...

Dual Art Mediums

Las Cruces, NM - February 27th, 2013

ack Pumphrey of Las Cruces, New Mexico isw currently posting a new style in art mediums to his Fine Arts America web site jack-pumphrey.artistwebsites.com The dual medium incorporates delicate pen & ink with detailed watercolor paintings of cars. The images feature "Main Streets" in and around New Mexico and destination landmarks in pen & ink. Then he selects a colorful watercolor painting of a classic hot rod or other vintage classic and "weaves" into the pen & ink drawing. The results create a pleasing contrast with the stark black & white against the brightly colored cars.

Cheap Car Art Pays Off

Las Cruces, NM - September 16th, 2012

Lately Jack Pumphrey, of Las Cruces, New Mexico has been advertising low priced pen and ink art of your car or motorcycle The prices have been so low that it's hard to believe. This approach to marketing his art is paying off. There have been many repeat customers; no kidding, and several up grades to color which equals more dollars. An additional plus is the added assignments to do house renderings which also increases Jacks revenue. Now, Jack is going to raise his prices in order to keep up with the orders, fewer orders at higher prices means plus dollars for same work load or, so it is planned.
