Description
A sketch photographed on the side of a Norfolk-Southern railroad boxcar is one of many unauthorized works of art by unknown artists which can be seen traveling from city to city on the nation's railway system. Railroad boxcar art is probably the largest traveling folk art exhibit in the world. Such art, some of it very elaborate and colorful, is visible any time you are sitting at a railroad crossing watching a freight train go by.
